We have little or no internet access at our retreat base,(though my nice new iphone does indeed work) so here we are again using facilities in the Columba Hotel in Oban. What a pleasure to browse at speed!
Have had time to look at the new apple ipad, which looks very good, especially for those of us who find small screens difficult to use.I expect it'll be popular with apple lovers everywhere, even although it's price tag hasn't been advertised for the uk market.
Today, we're shopping and lunching in Oban, where I have an appointment for an eye test and new glasses.Yes Specsavers has made it to Oban-so I can avail myself of their national promotions.New glasses will undoubtedly improve my viewing of both computer and TV screens, but then again if I CLEANED the lenses I have, I MIGHT be able to see better!! After the eyes have been assessed, Joan and I will have a wee wander around the shops while Ev surf's to his heart's content.
The sun is shining, although we did have an attempt at a snowfall earlier, which came to nothing! The hills in the distance are smattered white, so we'll no doubt venture closer with a trip to Glencoe next week.We do have to show Ev our favourite coffee spots! That's our excuse and we're sticking to it!!

Ok...so the bags are being packed and there's no sign of MY stuff going in. Think I'll just get into the big truck and have a seat at the front. That's better. I can see all the bags. Must be going for a while cause there's a MIGHTY number of bags. Phew! Just as well we've got this big truck thing to take it all. If they had to put it in the car, there WOULDN'T be any space for little old me. No this seat at the front will do me nicely. Oh oh.....they've spotted me. Maybe if I just sit still and don't look in their direction they'll not make me come out. Pose boy. Still. No looking back. Don't move a hair. Oh oh.......I guess I've been sussed. Have to get back inside...the Mama's voice is rising. Ok ok I'm going, but I'll be watching. My eyes won't leave the rest of those bags. There is NO WAY you're leaving without me, even if I have to bury myself inside that big bag when you're not looking. Wonder if we're going today? If not...I'll do the nocturnal bit and keep one eye open all night!
Can't be today....they're all on their laptops and watching TV at the same time....ok....time for a bit of shut-eye. Hope they're going to take my bed....it sure is comfy, especially when it's right beside this lovely heater. Could take the heater too....but then again....maybe there's not room for that since they seem to have everything BUT it going out!!! A bit of zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Moving requires lists and checking of lists and packing of checked items and double checking of packed items. With three two-legged and one four-legged movers it's as well we have two vehicles to use, especially when one of them is effectively a truck! We may only be going for just over a month, but there's a tendency to actually pack the kitchen sink!!We're off to our retreat in Benderloch on Wednesday, so the packing has already begun!

Yesterday found us back in Glasgow escorting Evan to the fracture clinic for his new lighter cast to be fitted and staples removed. We took him back to his own house where he managed to climb the stairs and gather some bits and pieces before departing in daylight to Rosneath, and yes, he himself managed to drive! It was good to see him halfway to becoming plaster-free, and with a lighter cast and access to his automatic vehicle he'll be freed from his crutches for much more of the time.
Nice one Evan!
